Prayer for the glorification of the Servant of God Robert Schuman and to ask for graces through his intercession

Lord, you willed that your creatures should reflect your love, and that peoples should develop between themselves bonds of peace and solidarity.

Your servant Robert Schuman was a faithful peacemaker. He carried out his secular actions as a vocation. He worked to build the first community of nations, expressing the wish “that Europe prefigure universal solidarity in the future”. His active life showed that politics may be a way of holiness. In the image of your Son, he was gentle and humble of heart (Mt 11, 29).

Grant that your Church soon honour Robert Schuman, disciple and imitator of Jesus Christ. Let him be a model for lawmakers and those who govern, so that they also may become servants of their own peoples and work for justice between nations.

Through the intercession of your servant Robert Schuman, give us the grace …(indicate here the grace that is asked for).

Grant, loving Father, that we be instruments of your divine will during our earthly pilgrimage through the most beautiful struggle of faith, in order to gain eternal life, to which we are called (1 Tim 6, 12 ). And according to the example of Robert Schuman, may we always be able ever to live in accordance with your love. Amen.

	Print Novena Laisser un message The beatification proceedings for Robert Schuman were opened officially by the Bishop of Metz on the 9th of July 1990. In the diocese, investigations ended in May 2004, and the file was sent over to Rome, for study by the Congregation for Saints' cases, who declared validity of the diocese investigations in February 2006.
